GDTC Run for Freedom
The Run For Freedom 5k/10K returns to Pinkerton! A family friendly event, the Race starts at 8:00 AM. Come enjoy the great atmosphere and good food. There is a t-shirt, fun prizes, and a Veterans gift. We'll see you on the 4th to celebrate our nation's birthday!
Proceeds benefit Liberty House, Manchester, NH. Liberty House is a non-profit safe haven that provides substance-free housing and assistance around everyday needs to help Veterans get back on their feet, regain their independence and build stable futures. ​

2024 Grand Marshall - Dan Stowers

​Dan is a Derry native and a 1989 graduate of Pinkerton Academy. He completed Army Basic Training at Ft. Dix New Jersey and graduated the Army’s Judge Advocate General Legal Specialist School at Ft. Ben Harrison Indiana. He was first assigned to the 24th Infantry Division, 3d Battalion-41st Field Artillery at Fort Stewart Georgia.
In August of 1990 Dan was deployed to the Persian Gulf within days of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait and the threat from Saddam Hussein to invade Saudi Arabia. Dan was identified as the first soldier from the Granite State to arrive in the Persian Gulf. Iining deployment in the Mojave Desert which cut his military career short. After numerous surgeries, Dan left the Army in 1999 and began a career in Emergency Management & Homeland Security. Dan served as an Evacuation Coordinator for Hurricane Floyd in 1999, which was considered the largest peacetime evacuation in US History. In 2004 he was appointed as the lead local planner for the 2004 G8 Summit and served as local public safety advisor for the 2005 Super Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida. After eight years teaching criminal justice in McDonough, GA and special education at Pinkerton Academy, Dan is returning to the emergency management / homeland security profession and will be pursuing his Doctor of Emergency Management (DEM) Degree at Columbia Southern University.
Service to Country and the US Army runs deep in Dan’s family, his oldest son is a Special Forces Captain with multiple combat deployments and his youngest son is a Combat Medic with the 82nd Airborne Division. Both sons are stationed at Ft. Liberty (Formerly Ft. Bragg NC). Recently, Dan’s oldest son served as the reenlistment officer for his younger brother to recommit to serve our Great Nation for another four years. Dan lives in Hampstead with his wife Nichole and daughter Carolyn. Dan volunteers to serve on several Veteran Boards, Veterans of Foreign Wars committees and is a member of the American Legion Post 9 Honor Guard.
